On Friday 5th March the British Music Experience will host another exclusive Q+A+E session with Danny Byrd, John B and Emalkay of Hospital Records, hosted by Radio One’s Mistajam.
After the overwhelming success of their first visit to the British Music Experience for a Q+A+E session back in September, the Hospital Records artists will return to present their music-making techniques and take questions on how they go about creating their trademark sounds. Vocalist, IK, will be appearing with Danny Byrd to demonstrate how to record and treat a vocal. Also on the agenda will be beat programming, heavy basslines and everything else in-between. Q+A+E is set to be an extremely popular event, perfectly placed for fans in the evening before Hospitality perform at Matter (Friday 5th March).
This exciting and intimate event is the latest in the series of highly successful workshops and masterclasses that have been hosted by the British Music Experience. Previous events include the Freemasons Music Masterclass, Jeff Beck Guitar Masterclass and Chris Difford Song Writing Masterclass.
Prior to the Hospital Records session on Friday 5th March, the British Music Experience will be hosting a pair of music workshops with The British DJ & MC Academy from 4-5pm and 5-6pm. The sessions will include hands-on training in radio presenting, with Chris Intaface who has hosted his own shows on Kiss FM & currently Kool FM, and DJing by renowned drum and bass artists Lady MC and DJ Trickles. To ensure visitors gain the most from the workshops space is limited in each to 30 individuals only.
Paul Lilley, curator of the British Music Experience, said “We are delighted not only to welcome The British DJ & MC Academy to the British Music Experience, but to see the return of Hospital Records after their superb Q+A+E event last year. Both events will provide a unique and exciting experience for fans and budding musicians alike.”
Pre booking for both Hospital Records Q+A+E and The British DJ & MC Academy workshop is essential. Tickets for Hospital Records Q+A+E tickets are £5 and available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk subject to booking fee. Tickets for the DJ and MC workshop are also £5, please email for availability.
After the great feedback and recommendations the academy were invited to the O2 Centre in Greenwich be part of the History of British Music by delivering master-classes in DJing and production for three days 6th-8th August!
The turnouts were amazing with over 500 people taking part in the workshops, mixing, selecting and producing music!
With a huge thanks for DJ Blakk Traxx & Fusion Uk for making it an amazing experience for everyone who got involved!
Also a special thanks to Lady MC, MC Angel & Blutooth for ensuring it ran smoothly!
